How iSatori was born...
In today's world, information is over abundant—from television to radio to
magazines to locker room talk, even from the people we speak with at work.
Especially when it comes to building a better body and improving our health. And
unfortunately, in the fitness industry, there is more misinformation—information
that tends to be untruthful, half-lies, or mixed messages—than truths in circulation.
Aggravated, oftentimes disgusted, by the deceitful marketing tactics and dubious
messages used by supplement companies, Stephen Adelé vowed to bring consumers
the honest-to-goodness truth and help them find a voice of reason. In an industry where
over-hyped and under-performing "quick fixes" seemed to become the rule rather than the
exception, Stephen decided "enough was enough" and proclaimed to help bring commonsense
back to an industry where, unfortunately, commonsense is not common at all.
After several carefully constructed product ideas were assessed, working diligently
alongside top medical doctors and nutritional biochemists, Stephen mindfully came up
with the idea for the company in late 2001: iSatori—a Total Solutions™
provider to help individuals build their best bodies and healthy minds.
"Satori is a Japanese word, which means to have an 'epiphany
or an awakening,' where once you have the answers, suddenly anything seems possible,
which in our case means building a better body. The 'i' was added to make it more
personal, and so the name iSatori was born."
Drawing on his past experience to capitalize on a new market void, Stephen used
educational materials, the internet, and a direct-to-consumer call center to propagate
his message for the responsible use of dietary supplements, weight training, and nutrition
philosophies combined with motivational tactics, where he quickly discovered his "winning
formula."
Shortly thereafter, The Mission of iSatori was born: to create the
most loved, talked-about, well-respected, and sought-after nutritional products
and solutions for building a better body and living a stronger, healthier, richer life.
Along with his dedicated and passionate team of employees, Stephen has continued to
build iSatori into the one of the industry's premiere information and supplement companies,
and because of his leadership skills has since been named as a "Best Boss" finalist by
Fortune Small Business magazine in 2004; received the Gold Award for Growth in Small
Companies from the industry's highly regarded Nutrition Business Journal;
and more recently, Stephen was named a finalist for the "Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur
of the Year" Award in 2006. Stephen is a highly regarded authority on exercise and
nutritional supplements whose recently acclaimed books Consumer's Guide to Supplements;
Maximum Growth (Vol. 1 & Vol. 2); Solving the Fat-Loss Puzzle; The 21-Day Ultimate Energy
Plan; and The Carnosine Breakthrough—have catapulted iSatori Technologies and
their eight scientifically driven products to successful heights, all in less than five
years of doing business.
